Image of Steve Duckworth in front of rare book collectionSteve Duckworth is the University Archivist for Oregon Health & Science University. He is a graduate of Drexel University’s MSLIS program with a concentration in Archival Studies. His previous experience includes serving as the Processing Archivist for the University of Florida (Gainesville) and as a Project Archivist with the National Park Service in Anchorage, AK, where he processed the records of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve.

Before the series of cross-country moves began, Steve was an Archives Processor with the PACSCL/CLIR Hidden Collections project, where he processed collections from institutions around Philadelphia, creating intellectual arrangement and finding aids for previously unprocessed holdings. He was also a Records Management Assistant at the Drexel University Archives, where he designed and implemented a collections survey to uncover digital media within the current holdings, and executed an institutional functional analysis to assist in strengthening future collecting efforts.

Steve has volunteered in Drexel’s Audio Archives, cataloging recordings of the Sigma Sound Studios Collection, and in Philadelphia’s John J. Wilcox, Jr. LGBT Archives, where he arranged and described various collections, including those of ACT UP! Philadelphia and the Philadelphia chapter of the ACLU. He also helped revive Drexel’s student chapter of the Society of American Archivists (DUSAA) and served as the group’s president.
